BENEFITS OF VIRTUAL TEAMS

 


There are many advantages of forming virtual teams which are listed below:

 

Greater availability of talent:

As the virtual team members are from different parts of the world, there is more talent among the team members. There are diverse people in a virtual team who can come up with different solutions to any problem. This is valuable because different people from different cultures have different point of views. This leads to the betterment of the company.

 

Reduced travel time:

Virtual team members can contact each other with the help of technology (Skype, video conference etc.). So, there is no need to travel unnecessarily to different countries. Virtual teams’ formation saves travel time and money which is quite helpful to manage the company’s expenses.

 

More efficient and flexible:

According to Ratcheva, “Virtual teams have increasingly been cited as efficient and flexible, novel form of organizational arrangement, and they are becoming more and more popular in the global business environment” (Ratcheva, 2008). Therefore, we can say that creating virtual teams is better way of business because the workers and the customers find it more reliable.

 

Increased productivity:

The virtual teams results in increased productivity because there is no expense of travelling, flexibility in working hours and no office distractions. The members are comfortable to work in virtual teams.
